The show, hosted by Regis Philbin, starts with a fastest finger contest where ten contestants try to arrange four items (landmarks, TV shows, etc.) in order, according to what the question says (west-east, first-last, etc.). There probably aren't very many people out there who haven't seen Who Wants To Be A Millionaire on TV, but for those of you who haven't, here's a quick rundown of the how the gameshow works. But the question remained, would this just be a cheap, rushed, terrible product simply trying to bring in some quick money? The answer is a resounding no. Jellyvision was chosen to be the developer, best known for their You Don't Know Jack series, so there was definitely a great deal of trivia game experience behind the Millionaire game. Many fans had been playing the free flash version of the game on the ABC website, so if they made it into a CD-ROM game, it was almost a sure thing that it would sell like hotcakes.
